The Director of Tuvalu’s Land and Survey Department, Mr Faatasi Malologa, and his staff recently had the great pleasure of receiving a drone from TCAP. TCAP Communications Officer, Ms Puanita Taomia Ewekia, presented the drone to Mr Malologa on October 20 on behalf of the project.

“TCAP have supported the department in providing equipment which will speed up our work and reduce the cost of surveys conducted with old equipment,” said Mr Malologa.

It is the second drone to be handed over to the Department. In May 2019, TCAP provided a drone and two desktop computers with software to process LiDAR data.

Having two drones allows for two teams from the Department to simultaneously collect data, said Ane Talia, a staff member with skills in flying the unmanned equipment.
