Mr James Lewis

Consultant Engineer 

James has over 15 years’ experience working as a coastal engineer and project manager throughout Australasia and across the Pacific. He has focused his career on working in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in climate change adaptation, concerned primarily within coastal adaptation and development of climate-proof coastal, port and maritime infrastructure. 

 
James has been living and working in Tuvalu for the past 2 years as the Engineer for the Tuvalu Coastal Adaptation Project (tcap.tv/). The project has involved the concept and detailed design of coastal protection structures on three islands of Tuvalu. He is currently undertaking construction supervision, including the quality compliance of the works by the Contractor. He has an in-depth knowledge of the local conditions in Funafuti and has undertaken ongoing survey and metocean monitoring during his tenure in Tuvalu.
